Levels of Elder Care

To ensure quality care, each Suites at Rouse resident is assessed upon admission and periodically throughout their stay to determine the appropriate level of Elder Care Services required to meet his or her individual needs. These services are provided on four levels:

Level I

Level I care is considered the basic service Woman Gardeningpackage, and is offered to all Suites at Rouse residents. Each resident can expect at least one hour of Elder Care Services per day, with 75% of these services being delivered during waking hours. Level I residents must be physically and mentally capable of understanding and carrying out instructions to independently vacate the building in an emergency.

The following Elder Care Services are provided under Level I:

  • Secure health care
  • Assistance making appointments
  • Supervision of personal hygiene
  • Assistance shopping when resident can determine needs
  • Intermittent and minimal assistance with self-medication
  • Oversight and supervision of care
  • Assistance with self-care oxygen
  • Social, recreational and leisure activities

Level II

Level II care includes all services provided under Level I as needed, plus the additional care services listed below. Level II residents must be physically and mentally capable of understanding and carrying out instructions to independently vacate the building in an emergency.

The following Elder Care Services are provided under Level II:

  • Special skin care and monitoring
  • Occasional assistance with medication administration
  • Assistance for residents alert and aware of incontinence
  • Occasional assistance with ambulation, including wheelchair to meals or activities
  • Assistance with personal hygiene
  • Assistance with non-self-care oxygen

Level III

Level III care includes all services provided under Levels I and II as needed, plus the additional care services listed below. Level III residents must be physically and mentally capable of understanding and carrying out instructions to independently vacate the building in an emergency.

The following Elder Care Services are provided under Level III:

  • Daily monitoring of personal possessions and clothing
  • Assistance with determination of shopping needs
  • Accompaniment to routine medical appointments
  • Incontinence monitoring and care
  • 24-hour supervision

Level IV

Level IV care is the most enhanced care provided at the Suites at Rouse, prior to a recommendation for a higher level of care in a nursing facility or other appropriate setting. Level IV care includes all of the services available under Levels I, II and III as needed, along with the following:

  • Combination of above listed care that exceeds 60 minutes per day
