Care Cottage Companion-Weekend Only

We are offering a unique opportunity for individuals who would enjoy being a companion to seniors and able to commit to working only weekends or occasionally on weekends as needed. As we work to provide more options of care to seniors in the community, our need for quality compassionate individuals grows. We are looking for staff at our Warren and Youngsville Care Cottages. Rouse’s Care Cottage Companions care for seniors by assisting with activities of daily living, attending to their personal needs and providing comfort to three seniors.

    Your role will be to provide assistance to three seniors living in a home setting where responsibilities will include light housekeeping and companion services in the home environment including housekeeping, meal preparation and laundry, and assistance with daily living activities.

    Weekend Only and Per Diem positions available for:
    •Saturday and Sunday (6:00am to 6:00pm)
    •Saturday and Sunday (6:00pm to 6:00am)

    CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Meets with the residents and families to provide education, support, and guidance; recommends appropriate therapeutic interventions for use with the residents placed in our care.
    • Works cooperatively with staff to meet the needs of each client. Serves as liaison between the organization and all community resources benefiting residents.
    • Writes all required reports, relating to clients’ adjustment and progress towards meeting goals of placement. Maintains clients' records, both hard copy and electronic, in compliance with legal, regulatory and agency standards; keeps case notes and recording of all contacts about the client current.
    • Conducts and writes comprehensive reports in accordance with all applicable state regulations.
    • Handles all critical incidents in accordance with regulatory mandates and agency policies and procedures; Assumes on-call responsibilities as required.
    • Meets weekly with the organizational team to keep them informed of each client's adjustment, problems, and progress and to discuss case management issues. Attends unit, department, and organization-wide staff meetings.
    • Participates in organization’s continuous quality improvement program and public relations activities. Attends agency events that recognize residents in placement and their families.

    Requirements:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Social Service or related field, positive community interface, behavioral management experience, MDS knowledge, excellent organizational ability, prioritization skills, and communication skills. Ability to navigate computer system for documentation.
