Supporting Rouse

As a 501(c)3 organization devoted to recognizing the vision and carrying on the mission of Henry R. Rouse, we rely on the generosity of the community to help us continue his quest.

Every day, our dedicated staff provides care and support to over 300 residents, clients and children throughout our facilities. We are proud of our high level of care, and hope that we can count on your continued support as we strive to carry on Henry R. Rouse’s mission.

Should you choose to show your support for Rouse through a monetary gift, there are several options for doing so:

Rouse Memorial Fund

Some donors appreciate the opportunity to honor a family member, loved one or friend by making a gift directly to Rouse. Donations made to the Rouse Memorial Fund in someone’s name help support many resident activities and events. These funds can also be specifically designated.

For more information about Rouse Memorial Fund contributions, contact Tracey Pascuzzi, Administrative Assistant, at 814-563-6406, or e-mail tpascuzzi@rouse.org.

Friends of Rouse

The Friends of Rouse was organized in 1988 as a volunteer auxiliary to the Rouse Home. Due to Rouse’s expansion, the name and mission of the Friends of Rouse changed and expanded as well. Today, the group acts as an advocate for the Rouse Home, Suites at Rouse, Rouse Children’s Center, Bridges Adult Day Service, Rouse Care at Home Clients, and Care Cottage Residents.

The Friends of Rouse raises funds through yearly dues and fundraisers. This money is used for a variety of projects, including:

  • Maintaining the Dogwood Room Snack Bar and the Aviary in the Homes Recreation Room
  • Supplementing each facilities Activity Department budget
  • Yearly special events including Summerfest, Family picnic and Fireworks
  • The beautiful Memorial Tree in the Homes Lobby
  • Special projects for all facilities
  • Annual contribution to the Rouse Legacy Foundation
  • Indoor and outdoor furniture for resident and family use

The Friends of Rouse membership is a diverse group of people including family, friends, volunteers, and employees of the Estate. The type and degree of involvement is entirely up to the individual member. While one member may be in a position to contribute financially rather than personally, another may help put together a special event or visit regularly with a resident.

Henry R. Rouse Legacy Society

The Henry R. Rouse Legacy Society is designed to honor individuals, families and friends who have, or who will, address the long-range needs of Rouse through planned giving. Planned giving helps generous individuals make larger gifts than they could make from their income. Such gifts can take many forms, including:

  • Bequests through a will
  • Bequests through a personal trust
  • Charitable life-income plans

Too often, gifts are unrecognized because they come near the end of a donor’s life. The Henry R. Rouse Legacy Society is our way of recognizing and thanking donors during their lifetime and beyond.

For more information regarding planned giving to the Henry R. Rouse Legacy Society, please contact  Susan Teconchuck, Chief Executive Officer, at 814-563-6403, or e-mail steconchuk@rouse.org.
