Levels of Elder Care

Levels of Care

To ensure quality care, each Suites at Rouse resident is assessed upon admission and periodically throughout their stay to determine the appropriate level of Elder Care Services required to meet his or her individual needs. These services are provided on three levels:

Level I

Level I care is the basic service package that is offered to all Suites Residents. Services provided at this level are primarily supervisory. Each Resident can expect at least one hour of Elder Care Services per day, 75% of these services being delivered during the waking hours. Level I residents must be physically and mentally capable of understanding and carrying out instructions to independently vacate the building in an emergency.

The following Elder Care Services are provided under Level I:

  • Medication Administration (including ordering of medications with contract pharmacy or family ordering and obtaining medications)
  • Securing Health Care
  • Assistance Making Appointments
  • Supervision of Personal Hygiene
  • Oversight and Supervision of Care
  • Social, Recreation, and Leisure Activities
  • Assistance with Self-Care Oxygen

Level II

Level II care includes all services provided under Level I, as needed, plus the additional care services listed below. Services provided at this level are for residents requiring occasional assistance. Level II Residents must be physically and mentally capable of understanding and carrying out instructions to independently vacate the building in an emergency. The following Elder Care Services are provided under Level II:

  • Assistance with Correspondence
  • Special Skin Care and Monitoring
  • Occasional Assistance with Incontinence for Residents Alert and Aware of their Incontinence*
  • Occasional Assistance with Ambulation, including Wheelchair, to Meals or Activities
  • Assistance with Determination of Shopping Needs (as written under Level III)
  • Assistance with Personal Hygiene/Bathing
  • Non-Self Care Oxygen

 

* Incontinence products are supplied by the Resident.

 

Level III

Level III care includes all services provided under Level I and Level II, as needed, plus the additional care services listed below. Services provided at this level are for residents requiring routine assistance. Level III residents must be physically and mentally capable of understanding and carrying out instructions to independently  vacate the building in an emergency.

The following Elder Care Services are provided under Level III:

  • Daily Care of Personal Possessions and Clothing
  • Assistance with Determination of Shopping Needs
  • Accompaniment to Routine Medical Appointments
  • Routine Assistance with Incontinence*
  • Colostomy/Ileostomy/Ureostomy Monitoring and Care
  • 24-Hour Supervision

 

* Incontinence products are supplied by the Resident.
