Since 1862, Rouse has been dedicated to carrying out the vision of Henry R. Rouse—providing compassionate, nonprofit care, education, and community services across the lifespan. Every day, our dedicated staff supports more than 300 residents, clients, and children through our services. We are proud of the high level of care we provide and remain committed to meeting the evolving needs of our community.
As a nonprofit organization, Rouse relies on the generosity of individuals, families, and community partners to help sustain this mission. Philanthropy allows us to preserve our values, strengthen our services, and ensure that quality care and support remain accessible for generations to come.
Henry R. Rouse Legacy Foundation
The Henry R. Rouse Legacy Foundation is the philanthropic and fundraising arm of Rouse. Rooted in the charitable values established by Henry R. Rouse, the Foundation exists to sustain and advance the work that began more than 160 years ago.
Through fundraising, advocacy, stewardship, and volunteer engagement, the Foundation provides essential support that helps Rouse thrive today while planning responsibly for the future. Contributions to the Foundation directly support priority initiatives that strengthen our organization, including:
- Capital projects that enhance facilities, improve resident and staff experiences, and preserve the historic and functional integrity of the campus.
- Scholarships and continuing education opportunities that support staff growth and professional development, as well as local high school students preparing for careers in healthcare, education, social services, culinary arts, and other service fields Rouse provides.
- Accessibility improvements that ensure residents, families, clients, children, staff, and community members can safely and comfortably navigate and enjoy our buildings and grounds.
- Community engagement initiatives that encourage volunteerism, philanthropy, and meaningful connection to the mission of Rouse.
Friends of Rouse
Friends of Rouse is the Foundation’s volunteer and fundraising arm and plays a vital role in enhancing daily life across the Rouse community. This dedicated group supports the Rouse Home, The Suites, Care at Home, and the Children’s Center by helping fund and coordinate:
- Activity budgets and resident programming
- Volunteer services
- Special projects and enhancements
- Seasonal events and celebrations
- Resident gifts and enrichment opportunities
Their efforts bring joy, comfort, and connection to residents and families while strengthening the sense of community that defines Rouse.
